God's Protected World is a 216-page hardcover textbook that consists of 39 lessons in 7 units with 4-8 lessons per unit, plus a review lesson for each unit. Many illustrations and photographs help to convey the interesting lessons. Such subjects as water, useful materials, seasons, the heavenly bodies, rainbows, heat and cold, caring for our bodies, different types of animals, machines, and stewardship are introduced on the child's level. Through this study, pupils gain an enjoyment and appreciation of nature and recognize God as the Creator.
Each lesson is divided into two parts: "Reading Together" and "Reading on Your Own." The first part can be used to introduce the lesson, and provides an opportunity for discussion and oral reading practice. The second part calls for individual reading comprehension, which may be assigned along with the questions at the end of a lesson. Vocabulary words that students should remember are given for the lessons. The "Extra Activities" can be used for class discussions, individual or group demonstrations, and projects. Detailed instructions for the activities are given to help rivet the concepts in the children's minds.
The 255-page Teacher's Manual contains pupil's pages that are shown at a reduced size. White areas show what the pupil's textbook is like, and shaded areas contain teacher instructions and answers to the pupil text questions. Interesting "Extra Information" is given for the teacher to ponder or share.
