The 60 lessons in this hardcover reader contain thirty narratives, four selections of Bible prose, four selections of Bible poetry, twelve English poems, and ten essays. Study exercises follow each selection.
These selections have been chosen for their integrity and worthwhile contribution to building character. The stories include lessons from history and the present day, from foreign countries and North America, from grownups and schoolchildren, from nature and human experiences.
At the end of the lessons, the Vocabulary lists words with their definitions. The Exercises are more extensive in this book than in Grades 6 and 7.
The softcover teacher's guide provides some background information, oral reading pointers, and an answer key. Additional notes are given on the origin of many of the vocabulary words.
No tests are included with this course.
